No matter who you are…
remember to take some “Me” time…
Hey there, I hope you’re awesome.
We are in the third week of January.
Are you staying focused on your fitness goals?
Like you, I’ve had many mentors.
I want to first take a moment to acknowledge a person who
inspired me to achieve one of my major goals.
Years ago, on my path to massage therapy school, my
Nanay Choleng was a big influence. In fact, many of us went to her
if we had back or neck strain or had a bad cough and needed Vicks
VapoRub Ointment on our backs. She taught me some of her “helot”
(filipino word, healing strokes but with meditation or prayer) techniques.
Make sure you thank family, friends, teachers and who have
inspired you and have helped you become better.
Do you have an attitude of gratitude?
My Nanay Choleng passed away on January 9, 2010,
three weeks shy of her 88th birthday.
Who are some of the people in your life that have helped
you through the years to become a better person – both life and career?
When was the last time you connected with those people?
Here are some things you can do today:
-Pay a visit
-Write them an email
-Send them a present
-Give them a hug and a say thank you
-Write them a letter.
-Call them up and chat
Just a thought of acknowledgement on their part of contribution
that helped you become successful can go a long way.
Show your love and gratitude. Don’t hesitate. Life is too short.
Okay, back to my topic of “me” time.
Do you take a regular “me” time?
If you’re consistently working on a goal, you’ve got to
take a break to get your “groove” back. Don’t be a
workaholic without a break. Work with no play is NO good.
-Give yourself some time to take a 20 minute walk after
2 hours of concentrated work.
-Walk with your significant other or friend
-Meditate
-Take a yoga class
-Thank your divine spirit or your perception of a higher power.
-Take 30 minutes to listen to music and daydream.
-Get regular massages (yes, once a month at least(
-Go to movies, plays or concerts.
-Watch comedy shows, live or on TV
-Say a prayer or positive affirmation.
Be grateful by saying out loud what you are thankful in the
morning time and before going to bed. Being thankful for life’s
blessings. Being grateful is positive, vibrational energy.
You have a lot of abundance that comes in your life. Even
if it’s the boring stuff; a sunny, clear day, roof over your head,
clothes on your back.
If you are grateful for more things, the more you’ll
attract more grateful things.
With Love, enthusiasm, and inspiration,
Adriel Yapana
